Send wedding films without compression
A wedding filmed on two cameras plus a drone comes to between 50 and 200 GB of raw footage. The edited film in 4K adds another 8 to 25 GB, and the couple wants it uncompressed, not squeezed down to fit somewhere. Your problem is not the edit. Your problem is the last mile: how the footage reaches the client, the colourist or the event planner without losing quality and without explaining a tool to anyone.
Transferify answers that in two ways, and the choice comes down to one question: can you keep the tab open, or not?
Two modes, and when to pick each
| What matters | Instant peer-to-peer | Hosted link |
|---|---|---|
| Size limit | Free up to 5 GB; no limit on a paid plan | Per plan, up to 1 TB on Premium |
| Needs your tab open | Yes, until it finishes | No, send the link and leave |
| Where the files go | Straight to the recipient's browser | Encrypted on your device, then stored |
| Good for | Raw footage, proxies, handovers to a colourist | The final film for the client |
Instant peer-to-peer needs no storage on our side, and that is not a slogan: the bytes leave your device for the recipient's over WebRTC, end-to-end encrypted, and are never stored on our servers. Some strict networks relay the connection, but the relay only passes encrypted bytes along. A 180 GB handover to a colourist goes through without touching our storage. Instant is free up to 5 GB on the free plan, and any paid plan unlocks any size. The condition is that you both keep the tab open until it finishes, which for a handover you have arranged in advance is what you want anyway. The full mechanism is on the peer-to-peer page.
You choose the expiry date
The services you use today often give you a fixed and usually short window, and you find out about the expiry when the client calls. With Transferify you choose the expiry on each transfer, within your plan: 1–3 days on the free plan, up to 7 days on Basic, up to 30 days on Plus, and on Premium up to 30 days or never.
From the Plus plan you can extend the expiry of a transfer you have already sent, while its link is still open, without uploading anything again. Premium adds recovery after expiry, an option you switch on when you send: the files are kept for 30 days after the link closes, so you can bring the transfer back once when the couple returns a month later because their laptop was wiped.
Delivering the final film, step by step
- Drop the master onto the page. Nothing is recompressed or re-encoded.
- Choose the expiry and, if you need one, a password for the download (from Basic).
- Put your name, your logo and your colour on the download page (the logo and colour are included on every plan).
- Send the link. The client opens it in a browser and downloads, with no account and nothing to install.
- Get an email when a download of the film starts.
The alert tells you that the film is being collected and when, not who is collecting it. Password, download limit and download alerts start on the Basic plan. A branded page, with your logo and colour, is included on every plan.
Wedding season: watch the downloads
In summer you film weekend after weekend and deliver cuts from three weddings in parallel. The limit you reach first is not the size of one transfer but the number of downloads in a month: 50 on the free plan, 100 on Basic, 300 on Plus and 1,000 on Premium. The number of transfers you send is not capped on any plan, but transfers that are still live share one storage allowance. A couple who download the film on a laptop, then on a phone, and send the link on to their parents use three downloads from a single delivery, so the limit arrives sooner than it looks.
The current figures for every plan are on the pricing page, which reads them from the same catalogue the product enforces.
Encryption without a quality trade-off
Hosted files are encrypted on your device with AES-256-GCM before upload and stay encrypted at rest. With Zero-Knowledge mode, on the Premium plan, the key never reaches us at all: we cannot read the footage, and we cannot open it for you either if you lose the link. Instant transfers are end-to-end encrypted by design.
Either way, the footage reaches the recipient exactly as you sent it. We do not recompress, change the container or make lower-quality copies. If you ever need to move a file far beyond a hosted link, the guide to sending 20 GB and more compares the routes.

Frequently asked questions
Is there a size limit on one transfer?
Instant peer-to-peer is free up to 5 GB on the free plan; above that, any paid plan unlocks any size. The files go straight between the two browsers and are never stored on our servers. A hosted link has a size per plan, 50 GB on Basic, 100 GB on Plus and 1 TB on Premium, and the free plan sets its hosted size per transfer.
Will the link stop working after a few days, like other services?
On the free plan, yes: the link closes on the date you choose, and you can choose 1–3 days. On Basic you can choose up to 7 days, on Plus up to 30 days, and on Premium you can also choose a link that never expires.
What happens if I close the tab during an Instant transfer?
The transfer stops, because the files flow straight from your device to the recipient. For a delivery where you cannot stay at the computer, use a hosted link, which keeps working after you close the tab.
Can I extend a link that is about to expire?
Yes. From the Plus plan you can extend the expiry of a transfer you have already sent, as long as its link is still open. On Premium you can also switch on recovery after expiry when you send, which keeps the files for 30 days after the link closes, so you can bring the transfer back once.
Is the footage compressed or re-encoded?
No. The files reach the recipient exactly as you sent them, byte for byte. We do not recompress, change the container or make lower-quality previews.
